Sylvester "Sonny" Shaw is a self-taught artist, entrepreneur and native of Washington, D.C. who began his craft in 1995. Before committing to his art on a full-time basis, Sonny enjoyed a long and successful run as owner of an optical business in Washington, D.C. His artistic expression is greatly influenced by his work as an optician and his continued affinity for geometric forms. Using a mixed medium, his vision of life is unvelied through the use of shapes that pulsate with vibrant colors creating dynamic images that stir up the imagination. His work has been featured twice in the prestigious National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and has been admired by the likes of Honorable Condaleezza Rice and Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton. Shaw's artwork has been exhibited and sold internationally and collected by numerous private individuals and corporations. This website contains
